Season Ending Letter of Thanks from a Coed Team:Winnipeg, May 1, 2008 Canford Sports Attn: John John: I just wanted to drop you a quick note to extend my appreciation for your time and effort this last winter. This was the first winter of playing co-ed spongee at Canford, and I just can't say how great an experience we had. The passion and dedication you put towards the running of this league is simply amazing. Your tireless effort in ensuring a clean, safe rink to be played on is to be commended. Regardless of the amount of snow or weather, the rink is always ready to go. On the few occasions that weather prevented you from providing quality safe playing conditions your efforts to contact us to advise us accordingly should not go unnoticed. Our team has been together for a few years now, playing in various other spongee leagues in the City and the Canford Coed is the best we've seen. While we will never say we don't want to be competitive (OK we like to win), the most important thing about playing any sport is fair play and respect. My late father in law had a saying... Win with humility, lose with respect. The Canford Co-ed spongee league exemplified this attitude. At all times the play of all teams (OK almost all) was above reproach. It was obvious from the attitude of all teams in the league that all were out there for fun. The few instances of unsportsmanlike conduct were immediately addressed by the refereeing to ensure a fun safe attitude for all. And then just to cap it off, the year end "fun" tournament was the icing on the cake. The interaction and laughter between all teams was great and really did cap the season off. Thanks again for everything, We can't wait till next year Garry Lang TEAM HOT |
