KANFORD  KIDS


Over the years, Canford Sports has provided programs and facilities for area youths, especially for those that could not or cannot afford to participate in what we call, the more structured sports.

With the co-operation of schools, churches, social workers and the Police Community Services branch, Canford is intent upon expanding the Kanford Kids sports opportunities. Many of our kids just cannot afford to participate in the more expensive organized sports.

For the 99.9% of them that will never play at the elite level,  maybe we should simply focus on just letting them play! Canford does not have a magic formula to keep kids active, we simply believe in a return to a simpler game on simple fields.



The four step appeal.. lies within ...

1. Keep it simple! - Rules & Regulations that promote continuous play
2. Keep it casual! - Allow them to choose level of play and playing time!
3. Keep it in use! - If possible, keep facilities in use year round (rinks)
4. Keep it fun !! - It's play time, let them enjoy themselves!!

Canford's Delivery system could not be any simpler ..

1. Offering the casual sports to participate in ...
2. Providing a play to play ...
3. Enabling as many as possible to play !! ...

Hey! We are open to your suggestions .... so GET INVOLVED!! ...

We would like to see some father & son teams, playing spongee on our mini-rinks or family 5's teams playing on the sand courts. We are asking teachers to join in with their students, on the ice or sand.

Canford welcomes the kids from McDonald Youth Services, Kidsport, Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers & Sisters and much more ...
